Summary
Version 0.1 accepts one-time and monthly donations through Stripe and publishes a non-identifying view of the experiment's finances. Donations support the Swiss non-profit association without purchasing ownership, influence, control, or access.
Donations
Donors choose an amount, currency, and one-time or monthly frequency before confirmation. Stripe handles payment credentials and available payment methods. Detailed payment and accounting records remain with Stripe, Wise, and the association's accountants.
Monthly donations and refunds
Monthly donations continue until cancelled through Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation prevents future payments but does not automatically refund a completed donation.
Duplicated, mistaken, or unauthorised payments may be submitted for review. Approved refunds return through Stripe to the original payment method. Support requests can be sent to [email protected] without including card credentials.
Public treasury
The treasury shows the current balance, sustainability score, median donation, total expenses, and transaction history. Notion provides the qualified publication data but is not the accounting ledger.
Financial indicators
Balance is the amount available in the Wise account after the latest successful synchronisation. Median donation is the middle eligible donation after amounts are ordered. Total expenses include recorded paid expenses under the approved methodology.
The sustainability score converts estimated runway into a value from 0.01 to 10: max(0.01, min(10, 10 × ln(1 + runway months) ÷ ln(37))). Runway uses the current balance and average monthly expenses over the previous six months. Missing or invalid inputs produce an unavailable result rather than a misleading score.
Transaction publication
Donations appear without donor identities. Expenses may show their date, native amount, public category, and description. Unsupported classifications remain Not qualified.
Account details, payment credentials, invoices, complete references, and unapproved donor or contractor identities remain private in accordance with Privacy.
Reconciliation
Synchronisation reconciles Stripe and Wise records, prevents duplicates, accounts for reversals, disputes, refunds, fees, and currency differences, and avoids presenting provisional data as final. The target is a complete update at least every four hours while retaining the last valid public state if a source fails.
